The Alvheim FPSO has a nameplate capacity of 120,000 barrels per day of oil and 125 million cubic feet per day of natural gas with total storage capacity of 560,000 barrels of oil
The Alvheim development will include subsea infrastructure consisting of five drill centers and associated flow lines
Alvheim processes oil from a number of different oil fields including Boyla Oil Field, Vilje Oil Field and Volund Oil Field
The oil is exported by tankers. Processed rich gas is transported by pipeline from Alvheim to the Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) Pipeline system on the British continental shelf.
The **Viper-Kobra** development comprises a new subsea installation with a pipeline tied into the Volund manifold. The four well slots are designated for one well from Viper and one from Kobra, in addition to two well slots intended for potential future wells in the area.

The reservoir consists of high porosity, high permeability sandstones in the Heimdal Formation of Paleocene age. The sand was deposited as sub-marine fan deposits and lies at a depth of approximately 2 200 metres.
