Description

  • The Albacora Leste field has an area of 511.56 km2 and is located in the northern area of the Campos Basin, in water depths ranging from 1,000 to 2,150 m, at a distance of about 120 km from Cabo de São Tomé.
  • The field utilises the Albacora Leste P-50 FPSO, anchored to the seabed at a depth of 1,240 metres and 120 km from the coast
  • The vessel has a production capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil per day and compression capacity of six million cubic metres of natural gas a day
  • There are 16 producing wells and 14 injection wells (all horizontal)

  • Jurong Shipyard: FPSO conversion including marine hull conversion and engineering, fabrication, installation, integration and commissioning of the topside modules

History

  • 1986 - Albacora Leste Oil And Gas Field discovered
  • 2002 - Jurong Shipyard awarded FPSO conversion contract
  • 2006 - Production starts
  • 2007 - A fire on the platform led to a few days disruption. The fire caused no victims or oil leaks to the sea
  • 2020 - Petrobras launched the sale process for the field
  • 2022 - PetroRio acquired 90% from Petrobras
