- 2004 - Aker Kvaerner awarded front-end engineering design (FEED) contract
- 2004 - Aker Kvaerner awarded detailed design and planning contract
- 2005 - Exxon & QP acquired majority of the project
- 2008 - LNG storage caisson leaves Algeciras Bay for the Adriatic Sea
- 2009 - Terminal operations started
Other Information
The Adriatic LNG Terminal is the first ever offshore Gravity Based Structure (GBS) for unloading, storing and regasifying Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The facility is located offshore of Porto Levante, in the northern Adriatic Sea, about 15 kilometers off the Veneto coastline, where it is set on the sea floor.
