Technical Details

Constructors

  • 2004 - Aker Kvaerner awarded front-end engineering design (FEED) contract
  • 2004 - Aker Kvaerner awarded detailed design and planning contract
  • 2005 - Exxon & QP acquired majority of the project
  • 2008 - LNG storage caisson leaves Algeciras Bay for the Adriatic Sea
  • 2009 - Terminal operations started

Other Information

  • The Adriatic LNG Terminal is the first ever offshore Gravity Based Structure (GBS) for unloading, storing and regasifying Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
  • The facility is located offshore of Porto Levante, in the northern Adriatic Sea, about 15 kilometers off the Veneto coastline, where it is set on the sea floor.
