Brief Description

• The JANAF system was built as an international crude oil transportation system from the Port and Terminal of Omišalj, Island of Krk, Croatia to both local and foreign refineries in Eastern and Central Europe.
• The designed capacity of the pipeline amounts to 34 million tons of oil annually (MTA), while its installed capacity is 20 MTA.
• Pipeline around 622 km long comprising the following sections:
  • Omišalj – Sisak
  • Sisak – Virje – Gola
  • Virje – Lendava
  • Sisak – Slavonski Brod
  • Slavonski Brod – Sotin
  • Gola - Szazhalombatta
• There is an interconnection with the Druzhba Pipeline at Szazhalombatta in Hungary

Pipeline Status

• In operation
• It supplies crude oil to the following refineries: Sisak Refinery, Bosanski Brod Refinery and Rijeka Refinery
• It also supplies the Danube Duna Refinery in Hungary, and the Slovnaft Bratislava Refinery via Druzhba's branch between Hungary and Slovakia

History

• 1979 - The Janaf system is constructed
• 2011 - SLOVNAFT and the MOL Group announce a project to modernize the pipeline
• 2015 - Expansion project is completed
