History

  • 1957 - Commissioned by Caltex Oil Refining (India)
  • 1976 - Taken over by Government of India
  • 1978 - Merged with HPCL
  • 1985 - Expansion of Refinery from 1.5 to 5.6 Million TPA & Secondary Processing Facilities (FCC : 0.6 Million TPA)
  • 1999 - The refinery's crude refining capacity increased to a further 7.5 MMTPA
  • 2000 - 1.8 Million TPA DHDS Project
  • 2005 - DHDS Revamp
  • 2012 - Clean fuels project completed
