Description

  • The Greater Plutonio offshore development area is located 160 kilometres northwest of Luanda and is comprised of the Galio, Cromio, Paladio, Plutonio and Cobalto fields in water depths varying from 1200 to 1450 metres. It will contain 43 wells: 20 producers, 20 water injectors, and 3 gas injectors. The development utilizes a floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) to process produced fluids and export crude. The FPSO is connected to the wells by a large subsea system.
  • The Greater Plutonio FPSO consists of the hull capable of storing 2 million bbls of crude oil and the topside designed to produce and refine 200,000 bbls of crude oil a day and accommodate 120 crew members.
    • Platina is a subsea tie-back development to the Greater Plutonio FPSO. It will access an estimated 44 million barrels of oil reserves and, at peak, is expected to add 30 thousand barrels of oil per day to Block 18 production.

Contractors

  • **Stolt Offshore and Technip:** installation of over 75km of 12-inch diameter insulated production, gas injection and service flowlines, 103km of umbilicals. In addition, the consortium will install the 12 FPSO mooring lines and 10 production manifolds, to tie-in the subsea wells and the final hook-up of the FPSO by means of a single riser tower
  • **KBR:** Engineering, procurement, construction & management (EPCM)
  • **Hyundai Heavy Industries:** Contract to fabricate the FPSO hull and topside equipment
  • **Acergy:** Subsea Installation
